Good old summer vacation....

I loved summer vacation when I was a child. The only worry that I had was if I were going to be bored having nothing important to do. I don't even think I worried about that much until it actually happened in the 70th day of being off for the summer. My brothers, friends and I would always find something to do. We would play hiding go seek, tag, cops and robbers, simon says and other random games I cannot even think of the name of anymore. It's amazing the ideas you come up with as a child. I remember my brother and I used to build huge tents in our living room and then we would put our industrial sized fans (because my dad limited our a.c. usage) under the blankets and create the most amazing fortress to hangout and sleep in. My best friend would come over and we created this kitchen game called Mama's Kitchen. We would mix anything that would create the most revolting concoction as possible and challenge one another to drink or eat the creations. Somehow we got a lot of pleasure out of drinking eggs yolks, Oreo cookies, tabasco sauce and mustard at the same time. We had a blast! I think the greatest thing about being a child is that you can use your imagination and have with just about anything!
Young at heart I will always be....
